Import/Export Compliance Specialist EU Customs Export/Import Regulations INCOTERMS

Our client is a Multinational company operating in the Manufacturing Industry, with a remarkable presence worldwide and a fast growing business. For international compliance department, we are looking for an Import/Export Compliance Specialist.

This role provides support related to import /export activities ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, company export/import compliance policies and best practices. Helps ensure that the requirements and business processes associated with cross-border movements function smoothly, while ensuring that risks are identified, mitigated and managed efficiently. Facilitate the export/import compliance program through effective policies, procedures, training, audits assessments, and practices.

Principal Activities include but are not limited to:
Evaluate the eligibility of the exports/imports for preferential duty treatments according to applicable free trade agreements; perform tariff classification in exported and imported products; resolve questions and provide information as needed for timely Customs clearance; Support in preparation of Post-Entry Adjustments for submission to customs or customs broker; support the Company in liaising with governmental authorities for customs related issues in case of queries, audits, related to export/import transactions; support the business in identifying dual use items and export license needs. Review the application and any reports to be submitted to the competent authorities; provide guidance with the preparation of Certificates of Origin. As needed, assist in the proper selection of the INCOTERMS®, review the customer’s shipping instructions to ensure the Client can meet the export /import requirements. Drive improvements on Export/Import programs, procedures, processes to ensure ongoing regulatory compliance. Assist in internal compliance audits, risk assessments and process improvements plans. Ability to support team initiatives and as required train, and provide directions.

The ideal candidate should have a degree with an expertise in EU Customs Export/Import Regulations. Strong knowledge of rules for tariff classification, customs valuation, country of origin rules, certificates of origin, free trade programs. Strong knowledge of INCOTERMS. Three (3) years minimum experience in a logistics/shipping/trade compliance or related role. Demonstrated experience with customs/regulatory requirements for cross-border movement of goods.

He/she need to have strong analytical skills; leadership competencies and skills with ability to lead cross-functional teams and communicate effectively with all levels of management in a large, international, matrix organization.

Languages: ability to speak English (both verbal and written).
